The drug affects the growth and development of tissues, as well as metabolism. The main principle of action: receptor binding to heme and in medium doses stimulates growth and development, increases the need for oxygen in tissues, stimulates the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, increases the functional activity of the cardiovascular system and the central nervous system.

How to take and dosage.

With hypothyroidism, the initial dose is 25-100 mcg / day; maintenance – 125-250 mcg / day; for children, the initial dose is 12.5-50 mcg / day, the maintenance dose is 100-150 mcg per 1 m² of body surface. In congenital hypothyroidism, children under the age of 6 months – 8-10 mcg / kg / day, at the age of 6-12 months – 6-8 mcg / kg / day, 1-5 years – 5-6 mcg / kg / day, 6 -12 years – 4-5 mcg / kg / day. With endemic goiter, treatment begins with 50 mcg / day with a gradual increase to the optimal – 100-200 mcg / day. Euthyroid goiter and prevention of its recurrence after resection: adults – 75-200 mcg / day, children – 12.5-150 mcg / day. Additional therapy in the treatment of thyreostatic drugs – 50-100 mcg / day. Malignant tumor of the thyroid gland (after surgery) – 150-300 mcg / day.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: allergic reactions, irritability, convulsions, nervousness, headache, drowsiness, myalgia, weakness, lethargy, apathy, fever, tachycardia.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity.
