Description

Esidrix is a drug, a moderate diuretic. It is used to treat arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, portal hypertension, nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure, acute glomerunonephritis, premenstrual syndrome. It is also applied as a prevention of the formation of stones in the urinary tract.

The main active ingredient in the composition is hydrochlorothiazide.

How does the drug work?

Reduces salt absorption to the initial level in the distal renal tubules, resulting in a more diuretic effect similar to furosemide. In the distal tubules, salt is exchanged for calcium, hydrogen carbonates, and phosphates. The diuretic effect appears after 1-2 hours, reaches a maximum after 4 hours and lasts up to 10-12 hours. It also lowers blood pressure.

How to take and dosage.

To lower blood pressure, take 25-50 mg / day orally.
Elderly 12.5 mg 1 or 2 times a day.
Children from 3 years old – 1-2 mg per day.
After 3-5 days of taking, it is recommended to take a short break for 3 days.
With neurogenic diabetes, take from 50 to 150 mg per day.
When preventing the formation of stones 50 mg 2 times a day.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: fatigue, irritability, muscle cramps, confusion, convulsions, nausea, vomiting, weakness, skin rash, anaphylactic reactions, constipation, hyperglycemia, arrhythmias, dizziness.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to components, diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure, anuria, liver disease, pregnancy, children under 3 years of age, lactose intolerance.
