Description
Aricept is an anticholinesterase agent. Aricept is used for mild to moderate dementia of Alzheimer’s disease.
Composition and analogues of the drug.
The main active ingredient in the composition is: donepezil.
Analogues: Nivalin, Exelon, Alzepil, Almazed, Aripezil, Divare, Donerum, Servoneks, Yasnal.
How does the drug work?
The drug acts on blocking the process of decomposition of acetylcholine, which is mainly involved in sending to the central nervous system. This medicine reduces hallucinations, apathy and unconscious repetitive movements.
How to take and dosage.
Aricept should be taken at bedtime. Initially, 5 mg once a day. You need to take the drug within a month. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 10 mg per day. The maximum daily dose is 10 mg.
Side effects and contraindications.
Side effects: headache, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, convulsions, insomnia, fatigue.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to donepezil, bronchial asthma, pregnancy, stomach ulcers, heart disease.
